Magic button "Make it beautiful"
Often in 3D renderings, people are looking for the magic button "Make it beautiful".
Well, you can use some rules to help you make your work not only beautiful, but also more realistic.
1. Maintain perfect proportions. All objects and their details should be made to exact dimensions. Try not to use scaling and rough fitting "by eye".
2. Make joints, seams, folds, chamfers and fasteners on the models. Take high-quality models of decor and furniture for your work.
3. Do scratches and dirt. You can add not only basic textures to your materials, but also textures that create scuffs, dirt, and scratches. That way the image will look more like real life instead of a blank picture.
4. Make the highlights uneven. You can do this with textures on the Glossiness and Reflection channels.
5. Also make the light irregular. Use a lighting gradient instead of flooding everything with uniform light.
6. Make the surfaces vary in brightness. Adjust the lighting so that some edges of the object are lighter, others darker.
7. It's very important to use a variety of shadows. If necessary, you can apply fake sources and lighting exclusions.
8. DOF - this depth of field effect is present in any photograph. You can make it neat or pronounced, depending on your task and taste.
9. Use post-processing for a beautiful final work. Additional rendering layers will help in post-processing to enhance textures, highlights, and make reflections and shadows more pronounced.
Obviously, we can create our own magic. The world around us is full of details and roughness, so for a realistic picture try to make it not perfect. And look around you more carefully.
Good luck creating a realistic picture!
