ProOptimizer modifier
There are many ways to help speed up your 3D Max workflow.
For example. The ProOptimizer modifier lets you select objects and interactively optimize them.
The ProOptimizer feature is an optimization tool that helps you reduce the number of vertices (and so the number of faces) in an object while preserving the object’s appearance. Options let you maintain material, mapping, and vertex color information in the optimized model.
Optimizing objects can reduce a scene’s memory requirements, simplify modeling because objects have fewer faces, and improve the speed of viewport display and rendering time.
Its work is simple - it reduces the number of polygons of the model. This can be useful for objects in the background, if the details are not important. You may apply it to any model, but you need to control the result, so as not to lose important details.
For the test, let's copy the sofa, with the «Copy» type. Let's apply the ProOptimizer modifier to the copy. Check Keep Textures to keep the coordinates of the texture display.
Let's press the Calculate button.
The computation may take some time.
In the Optimization Level menu you need to specify the percentage of vertex reduction.
