The "Array" modifier

With the "Array" modifier you can multiply objects by splines. For example, to create a Christmas garland.

The modifier has become more convenient than the "Array" or "Spacing Tool" tools. Now you can always go back and change the value instead of copying everything over again.

The line in the attached video was created using the script "MCG Tubo shape object" - https://blog.render.courses/tubo

First, let's create two additional helper points.

Next, create a tubo object in which we will specify these points.
Let's customize tubo in such a way that it will be a suitable base for the garland. You can adjust the height, the length of the rope, the shift of the end and start points.

Select the object you want to propagate and apply the Array modifier to it. In our case, it is a star.

*Please note that if your 3d max has a version lower than 2023, you will not have the built-in Array modifier. In this case, you will have to install it as a separate plugin (we will tell you about it in a separate post)*

In the Arrai modifier settings, put remove instead of loop and specify the desired percentage value. This way you can remove your stars on the edges of the rope.

Now you can move the entire garland by simply selecting one of the help points.
Enjoy!
